Passenger Boarding Bridge Brushes
These brushes are used to create a seal between the movable wall sections of passenger boarding bridges. In order to create a safe and comfortable environment for passengers to plane and deplane, passenger boarding bridge brushes are installed to provide an inclement weather free, reduced noise passageway between the aircraft and the terminal.
Passenger boarding bridge brush functions include:
-
keeping out wind, weather, and moisture
-
reduction or elimination of noise from the tarmac
-
light elimination
-
panel cushioning/friction reduction for closed bridge position
-
panel sealing for extended/telescoped bridge position

OUR PASSENGER BOARDING BRIDGE BRUSHES
A passenger boarding bridge is an enclosed movable connector which most commonly extends from an airport terminal gate to an airplane. It is also sometimes refer to as a jet bridge, jetway, gangway, aerobridge, airbridge, air jetty, portal, skybridge but it’s official industry name is “passenger boarding bridge”. They are also used to connect ships and boats to port allowing passengers to board and disembark without going outside or being exposed to the elements. A jet bridge may be fixed or movable swinging radially and/or extending in length using a retractable tunnel design. These connection points are where brushes seals are used to seal the bridge in both cold, hot, wet, windy and snowy environments. The cab of the loading bridge is also raised and lowered to dock with aircraft of differing sill heights. Our brushes are often used to seal this movement of the bridge as well as the doors at the ends of the jet bridge, levers and other openings that would allow wind and weather into the jet bridge.
Often in today’s travel you will hear complaints about the time spent in uncomfortable jet bridges as they wait for their oversize carry-on luggage to be delivered to them by the ground crew. Their wait time is often in tunnels that are too hot, too cold, wet or with snow blowing in though the gaps. Our Precision Brush weather seals provide an excellent solution to filling these gaps, not only making the customer experience much more enjoyable but also saving on heating and air-conditioning costs.
