The ID also referred to as the "Inside Diameter" is measured across the brush from the inside of the metal channel to the inside of the metal channel. This would be the critical dimension when the brush is being mounted on the outside of a holder such as a pipe. It is difficult to make the brush hold by just using spring pressure, because the more the brush stretches out, the larger the gap becomes between the ends of the brush. We recommend also using some sort of clamp around the OD of the brush to secure it in place.
