The OD also referred to as "Outside Diameter" is measured across the brush on the outside of the metal channel. With most cup brushes this is the critical dimension. The brush can snap fit into a holder or is clamped on the OD. Sometimes holders are designed with a groove the brush will fit into, but it is best to have the brush hold with some spring pressure as well. Since our Cup Brushes are formed from straight brushes there will always be two ends to the brush. Depending on your application we may recommend making the OD of the brush larger than the holder but with a gap between the ends. When the brush is squeezed together the OD will shrink slightly and the spring pressure of the metal will help to hold the brush.
