Precision Brush - Brush Filament Diameter

The Filament Diameter is the measurement across the diameter of an individual filament. This can be measured with a micrometer or calipers. The range of filaments for most brushes is generally between .003" (three thousandths) to .060 (sixty thousandths of an inch). For instance, the filaments in this brush measure .036" and these filaments measure .010". To give you an idea of filament diameters, a standard soft toothbrush is usually .006, a paint brush that you would use to paint your house is usually .012", a snow brush for cleaning snow off your car is usually .018 and a push broom used to sweep a floor is generally .025".
