Precision Brush Company
75th Anniversary
1951 - 2026

In 2026, Precision Brush Company in Solon marks a remarkable milestone—75 years in business. From humble beginnings in a Cleveland garage, to becoming a global leader in custom industrial brushes, the company’s journey is a testament to innovation, resilience, and family-driven entrepreneurship.

Founded in 1951 by Lloyd Benjamin, Precision Brush began as a small operation with a big vision: to meet a growing demand for custom industrial brushes. Lloyd designed and built his own machinery to manufacture metal channel strip brushes—a niche that would define the company’s future.

What started as a two-machine operation has since evolved into a company capable of producing hundreds of thousands of custom brush configurations, serving industries across the globe—from food processing to aerospace and data centers.

Growth Rooted in Innovation

Over the decades, Precision Brush expanded both its capabilities and its footprint. The company relocated from Cleveland to larger facilities, ultimately establishing its modern headquarters in Solon, Ohio, where it continues to operate today.

A key to its longevity has been a relentless focus on customization and engineering expertise. Rather than producing one-size-fits-all products, Precision Brush specializes in designing brushes tailored to highly specific industrial applications—whether sealing, cleaning, filtering, or moving materials in complex manufacturing environments.

A Family Legacy Continues

The company’s success has remained closely tied to Lloyd Benjamin’s family. In 1987, his son, Jim Benjamin, joined the business and eventually became president, continuing the founder’s commitment to quality and customer service. Jim’s son Peter Benjamin has also worked to design innovative new equipment and may someday step in to a more permanent position at the company.

Impact Across Industries

Today, Precision Brush products are used in virtually every sector of manufacturing. Their brushes help:

  • Seal and protect equipment
  • Clean and polish surfaces
  • Guide and move materials
  • Support automation and robotics

With applications spanning industries such as steel, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and food production, the company’s products quite literally “touch” countless aspects of daily life.

Celebrating 75 Years—and Looking Ahead

Reaching a 75-year anniversary is no small feat, especially in the competitive world of manufacturing. Precision Brush’s longevity reflects a combination of engineering expertise, adaptability, and a commitment to customer relationships that has remained unchanged since 1951.

As the company celebrates this milestone, it also looks forward—continuing to invest in technology, expand capabilities, and serve industries that are rapidly evolving.
